If you
have been charged with a criminal offense you MUST appear
in court for arraignment. The Clerk's office is not authorized to
grant continuances by telephone. If you have questions as to how
to proceed with your case, please consult an attorney.
Individuals wishing to file criminal charges MUST
be interviewed by the prosecutor. To file criminal charges, report
to the Clerk's office on Thursdays at 12:30 p.m. You will be required
to fill out a fact sheet that will require the correct name and
address of the defendant, and identifiers such as date of birth
or social security number. A $80.00 security for cost deposit may
be requested. This deposit will be refunded if the defendant is
found guilty. Once criminal charges are filed, they cannot
be dismissed without a hearing before the judge in open court.
