The Division of Building and Zoning is responsible for processing all permits related to building and construction activity, and scheduling subsequent inspections. This department processes approximately 1,500 permits annually. These permits include building, electrical, plumbing, HVAC, right-of-way work, zoning, and other activities. Calls for inspections must be received 24 hours in advance. Inspections may be scheduled by calling 513-228-3153, or you can schedule an inspection online.

Additionally, the Division of Building and Zoning is responsible for the enforcement of the City’s property maintenance code. The City processes over 600 property maintenance code violations per year. This code entails enforcing regulations addressing junk and trash on private property, height of grass, inoperable or unlicensed vehicles, peeling paint, and deteriorated structures among others.
